The recent Employment Tribunal no 2409542/07 found that a criterea for the issue of plates which gave points for lenth of service was obviously unfair because in the Justices words "it gave an unlawful advantage to the white male indiginous cab driver" this disadvantaged Asians and Women who had not been in the trade long enough. Wether you agree with result of the tribunal or not does not matter, it is the Law. Stockport MBC new this when they agreed to the criterea (which was endorsed by ,among others, a Manchester multi owner.)
Stockport have always said if the trade did not agree with them then they would go back to the first decision and totally de-limit.Have the Stockport cab trade fell for a 3 card trick ? Watch this space.

Why hasn't Stockport opted for a lottery system? Is it too late for that?
