I saw an article in a trade mag that said Addison Lee were trying to get Booking Booths in the terminals at Heathrow did anyone else see it or have any opinions?

The LTDA / Unite / LCDC had a meeting with BAA and the idea was dropped.

21'000 Taxis make a bit of a traffic jam when they all try and drive into Heathrow at the same time.

It was'nt just the real London taxi Trade either, I gather some of Mr Griffens fellow Minicab operators are tiring of his ego and his plan to be the only Minicab operator in London.

If passengers want to book a Minicab they can do so, as they always have been able to do so, a booth and a line of available Minicabs constitutes . . .

Yeah I thought that was the case after reading the article, he was trying to say it would save BAA money by getting rid of the feeder park but you guys pay for that don't you?

I'm not an airport regular as such, in fact I can't remember the last time I went through the feeder park, probably about 3 years ago.

There's a £5.50 fee to go through, BAA claim it's to meet the running costs of the 'taxi Agents' they employ on the rank and for the canteen building and loo's.

I can't be arsed with a 2 hour wait to take a punter to a hotel on the perimeter road, or get three locals in a row.

Trips to Southampton / Brighton / Cambs etc are few and far between with the current recession.
