See it in a accident and they'll soon change their minds, ask them if it's the whole type vehicle approval or just a made up one for conversions?

Like Brummie I dont think it suitable for big cities, especially university cities where you get large numbers of students, who are more likely to load 5 into a cab. You need a large cab and large doors to move people quickly.

Because of it sitting a rank, and nowhere for the wheelie to get in.

Has to be side entry

In a few years all vehicles carrying passengers will have to be whole type approved.

But just cos a vehicle is doesn't mean a council need license it.

Same here in our manor, our LO said if there was an accident and the rear doors got hit how would you get the passenger out?? He was right you can't. That was one of the reasons why they won't let them on, the other one being the whole type vehicle type approval, there are so many of them out there claiming to have done the right test etc etc etc.

No rear loading being touted as a possible condition in Falkirk Council as well. Would be new applicants initally, followed by new vehicles on presently issued plates.

One question if the possibilty of not getting the passenger out following a rear end impact is a problem, why do social work vehicles have rear loading? A question our LO couldn't answer at the last forum meeting.

I quite fancied it as a non WAV, it's basically a stretched Touran with slidey doors, then I saw the price of one and decided not to go for it.

Then I considered a Sharan, not quite as accesable in the back but for a 2 yr old mid range one for 10k I could live with that, then I saw the 1.9 auto's 0-60 time, 15 seconds!!!!! christ the old 2.0 DTi Vectra was bad enough at 12.
