No Steve it's still there been back to Pooles twice now they can't find what the problem is, tried to blame it on an "after market" fuel filter at first, now it looks like a fuel sensor but that's on "back order" So I have to wait for it to arrive I can still drive it but the accelerator dies when you put your foot down from idling.

Is it fitted with a dpf mate?

Also my mate had 5 turbo's on his 407, and another has been told his has a turbo fault that the garage can't say if it will blow tomorrow or last forever.

Karen are you switching from a 406 to a 407 by any chance?

406 was a better car than the 405, but the 407 seems to be a backward move, probably because of the 1.6 engine they fit it with now as opposed to the older larger units.

That part is causing trouble in lots of cars mate, ignore the miles I know a bloke who says his regenerates once a week, one of the worst things to have on a car and VW even charge you extra for it if you're silly enough to ask for one to be fitted.

It's still in the warranty atm and is going back in on Wednesday for the fuel sensor they think it is. The read out on the pc is "Fuel Control rail pressure too high" Read a few Pug forums and this read out is not listed in any of them :?

I think you will end up needing a new dpf tbh, and the bad news is I don't think they are a warranted part, I might be wrong but if I'm right you need to kick up big style in the dealers, if you can get out of the car go up the road to Sparshatts and they have cars that are built to do the job.

If I was going to get rid of it I'd get a E7 there is a lot of idle mothers round our way that won't take their kids out of the push chairs

Good thinking but bear in mind the E7 is a Pug as well with basically the same engine as a 407 2.0 HDi, which is the better engine tbh, but I'd say once bitten and get something not French or Italian, are you sure it will pay though, I came past Chicago Ruck Cafe last night at about 2am and there was a daisy chain of cabs waiting right up to McDonalds, I'm due to change cars but right now I'm holding off because it's so quiet.

No I've had a 2ltr 407 Zenith for 3 and half years now and I'm changing it for the 407 SW. I wanted the 308 cabriolet but I haven't been able to get my HC in time to do that so it's on the back burner again  I've had few niggles with the Pug but nothing that puts me off them and they drive like a dream and are economical. The only problem I have with the Zenith was the size of wheels 17" and they are major expensive for new ones at least with the SW they are only 16" so they'll be cheaper to replace

Why not just change the wheels and keep the car?

Two reasons..... one I didn't know I could  the other is it's out of warranty and I don't like trying to get things fixed cos garages just see you coming and I haven't got a clue
