Slightly more important in my view....but it will no doubt help if you were known to make a suggestion that would have prevented a death and it was apparently overlooked.

On the same basis that you perhaps believe the clogging of roads, which may hinder emergency services or the blocking of fire exits and doorways by people waiting for pre-booked vehicles.

These are all good points Captain & I am taking FULL note of ALL the good reasons & grounds from ALL contributors on this thread, that will assist in objecting to this proposal.

Thank you all & please keep it coming.

I will now be going to the Licensing Committee meeting on Wednesday, & will make a point of speaking on this subject & again propose to have the Bye-laws amended to reflect the need to carry wheelchair passengers in the prescribed manner only.

I think a distinction needs to be made, however simple and obvious, between wheelchair passengers travelling in their wheelchair, and wheelchair passengers who get out of their wheelchair to sit on the seat of the vehicle.

Those wheelchair passengers who transfer to a seat in the taxi are the least of our worries, provided that they are able & strong enough to transfer.
