'I Dreamed A Dream' Goes On Sale On 23rd November 2009
Susan Boyle's debut album at number one - three months before it's released
4th September 2009
Susan Boyle tops US charts before her album even released. Whitney Houston probably less than thrilled.
Susan Boyle was celebrating topping the charts last night – three months before her album is released.
The Britain’s Got Talent sensation headed the pre-sale ratings on Amazon.com just hours after her CD was officially announced.
I Dreamed A Dream goes on sale on November 23. But already tens of thousands of copies have been ordered, meaning Boyle is ahead of giants like Whitney Houston and The Beatles in pre-sales.
Some fans even complained they were not allowed to order a dozen copies. It is thought Amazon may be limiting the amount each customer buys in America.
One said: “The moment has finally come. Susan’s CD is going to be brilliant and I can’t wait.”
The singer’s management also gave out the first picture from her album shoot last night – showing her in the mountains of the Ardkinglas Estate in Cairndow, Argyll.
The photo, or one similar, will be on the cover of the album.
Susan’s life is now back on track following her breakdown after coming second in the BGT final.
As she began preparing to go on the road to promote the CD both she and her cat Pebbles yesterday got a makeover. The Scots singer, 48, was booked in for a private shopping treat at Harrods in London.
She bought six designer dresses worth tens of thousands of pounds before heading off to Suzanne Neville’s nearby boutique.
And Pebbles didn’t miss out either. She was taken for the full works at a top pet pampering store.
A source close to the singer said: “Susan was very excited.
“She had never been to Harrods and they treated her like royalty. She was ushered into a private area and given personal shoppers.”

Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed a Dream' wins over Whitney Houston's 'I Look to You' and 'The Twilight Saga's New Moon' soundtrack.
Though Susan Boyle's first studio album "I Dreamed a Dream" will not arrive in America until November 24, the record has reached the top spot on Amazon's bestselling chart. The CD becomes the bestseller due to an overwhelming number of pre-orders on the digital retail.
Commenting on Susan's album, Simon Cowell previously told People, "Susan is ecstatic, she can't believe it. She's in the recording studio this week, which she's loving. She couldn't be happier." The "American Idol" judge added, "She's so good, the album is not just going to be show tunes. We're going to take our time with this."
Following right behind the "Britain's Got Talent" album's effort at number two on the chart is Whitney Houston's comeback album "I Look to You". Other studio projects which manage to sit on the Top Ten of Amazon's Bestseller in music are Jay-Z's "The Blueprint 3" and "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" soundtrack among others.

Susan Boyle’s Debut Album Tops Online Charts
Despite not even having been released
7th of September 2009
Susan Boyle is poised for huge success, judging by early signs. Although her debut album, the one she’s been working on with music mogul Simon Cowell ever since she was done with Britain’s Got Talent, is not even released yet, it’s already topping all the charts. Fans are dying to hear Boyle’s first musical effort, and they made it possible for her to soar in the charts, People magazine reports.
According to numbers cited by the mag, in just days after the announcement, Boyle’s debut material was already at number one, with countless fans rushing to preorder it on sites like Amazon.com. In doing so, they literally helped the unlikely star, as she’s often dubbed in the media, the “Angel,” become an even bigger sensation than she already was, crushing competition from some of the most long-standing names in the music industry.
“The Scottish star’s debut album, ‘I Dreamed A Dream,’ has sensationally topped the online-retail charts, quite a feat considering her record is not even being released until Nov. 24. Thousands of eager fans have already pre-ordered the record on Amazon.com, just days after the release was announced. That’s resulted in Boyle’s climbing to the top of the charts, beating heavy hitters Whitney Houston and the Beatles to the top spot.” People magazine writes.
A representative for the singer tells the same publication that she was so happy when she heard the news she decided to treat herself to a shopping trip to Harrods. Then, she hit Suzanne Neville on Knightsbridge’s Beauchamp Place, where she met with the designer in view of a dress she’d wear on an upcoming television appearance. Clearly, chances are high not even she expected this kind of amazing reaction from the fans, even if she was fully aware of her unbelievable talent.
As it happens, the love millions around the globe feel for Boyle is also due to the passion she puts in her singing and her being still a very genuine and lovable person. “When you sing a song, you’re telling a story. That’s what I was doing when I sang ‘I Dreamed a Dream.’ But that wasn’t me singing about becoming a singer. It was about the position I was in after my mother died. I did the audition for her because she always wanted me to make something of my life, but I had to wait a bit because her death prevented me from singing for a while. I couldn’t put my heart into it. So I was singing about wanting things to be like they were before she went. You know, it was a double-edged sword because it was about what I wanted to do, but it was also about wanting to turn back to when she was with me. Powerful stuff.” Susan was saying for Harper’s Bazaar a while ago.
