It's a comment that was left on the Corporal Jones lookalike 'Blog page' which is nothing other than an RMT promotion page.
He seems to like the word 'Vile'. It must be the word of the week. :D

Corporal Jones runs the 'Anderson Shelter'.

Leave a comment, but he'll only post it if it suits his side of the story.

The RMT are commited communists after all. No free speech there.

But thats why in the long term the whole set up will come tumbling down as the Butterboys start to realise they've been had over, butterboys seem to make up about 80% of the membership.
No ones 'new' forever.

CCTV with sound is easy to do. It adds little more complication to the set-up. My guess it hasn't been mandated because no-one knows anyone who sells such a system. By 'knows' I mean 'can get backhanders from'.

I haven't come across any system used in cabs that doesn't have voice. :?

The point Red Tel was making is that the PCO, along with the Data Protection folks, last year put out a consultation saying audio should be banned in CCTV used in cabs.

Clearly the GMB fought that ban, and asked questions why it was even considered.

Apologies for reading it backwards then.

Why the hell would they want it banned?

The view they gave at the time was it was a breach of their privacy, and they couldn't understand why voice was required to identify the scum.

The point I made when I replied to the consultation was in our cases voice is paramount to prove drivers innocent of going to the wrong place, or clear them of being rude to customers.

Also voice was the only evidence of abusive or racist comments from punters. And of course the other way around.

If I get into making Boilers, they'll be my first choice.

If I join the railways, the RMT will be my first choice.

Until then, like the other 8600 members, I'll stick with the LTDA.

It does beg the question as to why the LTDA have got the hump over this united front.

Do the LTDA think everything is fine and dandy at the PCO? Or are they frightened of losing some power to the new boys in town? :?

They're doing nothing more than giving them a taste of their own bitter medicine.

Since the inception of the Railway Unions Taxi branch, they've spent every minute of the day attacking the LTDA, the LCDC, the Unite union, TFL, the PCO, DAC, Com Cab, the guy who sells coffee in Dean St etc

They do nothing for the trade’s betterment, but spend their time spreading rumours and mistruths in order to secure more members.

In short, over the last 9 months they've achieved nothing, not one iota.

Most of their membership consists of brand new drivers recruited from the online RMT forum which used to be called the LTDF, but has since been taken over by the RMT junta who remove comments exposing the RMT or ban people who challenge their tactics or agenda.

The joining of forces with the Minicabs and Pedicabs is typical of those who purport to lead the rabble.

We take the decisions, you'll put up with it.

Just like they used to do when they were members of other trade bodies in London, and the RMT will be no different.

But that’s why they will always be the minority fringe, and 90% of drivers just ignore them.

And soon (already I hear!) the infighting and squabbles will start. 8)
