Some owners up here have bought the Chrysler sebrings and they don't have a spare wheel only a compressor and a can of sealant.
I was under the impression that we had to have a full sized spare wheel or a space saver, as the sealant is only good for minor repairs and you have to replace the tyre once you have used it

I'm not sure that is the reason. More likely that a serviceable spare enables you to complete your journey with minimum inconvenience to your passengers.

The 'rule' appears as a condition on my licence. I'm not sure if there is a statutory requirement.

Depends on your LA's conditions I think, although how many vehicles had those spacesaver spare wheels?

Cant see an issue really, the spare wheel is exactly that.....something to get you out of the sh*t.

Our LA won't let you work with a space saver and you have to have a spare wheel and not the spray stuff. Even if you have a full sized spare once it has been placed on the vehicle you still have to go home until you have another spare wheel cos you can't work without one

Different councils have different policies.

Mine now allow the spray stuff, which is meant to be the bizz. :?

Just called a mate where I get my tyres from
The tyre will not be able to be repaired once the spray is used, due to the chemicals used in the spray, and the tyre must be replaced
