we have cars getting faster, engines getting more productive HP wise, wheres the MPG gonna increase?

instead of 0-60 in 3 seconds and 800hp, why not 200mpg?

17 years ago my maestro Tdi did 52 mpg

if mpg had increased inline (or rather instead of) power outputs, by my reckoning, i should be able to buy a 150mpg saloon, but i cant

the perkins was an old design, a bit smokey, but i also had a montego estate that cruised at 70 mph all day fully loaded, never went wrong, was cheap to service and gave 50-55mpg

todays hitech/computer controlled/multi-sensored/Hdis give little more
