It would be good to know which engines they have, the TDi's have a few known faults and if it's petrol engines I think I know whats doing it.

Ah ha; A Vectra forum at last!

Mine's just come up with fault p0238, boost pressure high. We replaced the boost control solenoid but the fault still exists. Also, it goes into 'safe mode' which can be reset by turning off and removing the key for a few seconds.

Vectra 'C', 2004, Y20 diesel engine. Any ideas?

It was a small split in a pipe. Now sorted and running good as gold.

If a Zafira is showing an EGR fault is this likely to be the problem and how much would a new EGR valve cost?

The few I've encountered were able to work after a thorough cleaning . . .its a tough residue though, they still sell carburater cleaner (The gallon cans with dip basket) here in the states. Softens it up nicely

If you look on ebay you can now get a kit that blocks them off, makes the car more responsive and better on fuel, I had one fitted to my Octavia about a month ago the garage tested the emissions before and after the later won hands down
