We'd have it plastered all over the main news channels, with live feeds.

Hope you've got your water wings on CC?

More rain tommorrow.....Carlisle's new flood defences seem to be coping, more water has come down that 2005.

Yes. It's the wrong type of rain.

Well in fairness to the main media outlets, it now seems (since the poor lad on the bridge was killed) to be headline news.

Cumbria does exist.

The Northwest were made aware of the potential rainfall days before it happened and preparation was made for possible evacuations as and when they were needed. I fail to see why the people down south need to know the potential for floods 100's of miles away. If they did need to know they could check the weather forecast for the area of interest

As Quasimodo said, "It's the water from the Fells, the Fells. I can see the Fells you know!"

"The Fells, the Fells, the water comes tumbling down the Fells!"

:) :) :D :D

I would have thought with all the rail closures on the WCML, a certain (C)Cab driver from those parts will also be doing rather well at the moment with contract work.
