HI Mick, glad you brought that up The majority of London's p/h/fleet do in fact have TFL identifiers on both front and rear screens, this was agreed when we require access to bus lanes for the purpose of picking -up and setting -down,these identifiers also prevent cctv enforcement from issuing pcns. The owners of vehicles such as chauffeured driven limousines can be exempted from displaying these but will face penalties if caught in bus lanes.....The public can clearly see these signs which state,

PRE BOOKED ONLY

OH,and by the way a survey of traffic flows on several key routes in London commisioned by TFL proved that by allowing private hire into bus lanes NO congestion would be caused. (FIGURES PROVED THAT ONLY 2 P/H VEHICLES per minute travelled along the monitored stretches) :P :P

It's just a shame your drivers can't grasp the meaning of that phrase when they're out touting in their thousands every weekend .

'Taxee boss'? 'Taxee boss'? Image

Perhaps you could start an education programme for them in the 57 languages your mob speak, don't worry about the English version, that would only apply to about 300 out of 50'000.

Yes, I see ones received a whole 47 viewings so far!

No one seems interested in viewing part 2. I wonder why!

This 'campaign' will have them rushing for the legislation books on Monday morning. :D

SORRY GUV DONT CROSS THE RIVER,COS I GET LOST,TRY A LICENSED PRIVATE HIRE COMPANY.

ARE YOU saying that your organisation comprises of only white English speakers, and that no other group drive black cabs ,cant'quite believe that
perhaps we should ask the PCO in a freedom of information request to provide details of ethnicity

What's colour got to do with it? :?

Aren’t Bosnians / Serbs / Romanians / Poles white?

If you can't speak English, your not going to pass the Knowledge are you?

The PCO don't provide interpreters at any of the 16 or 20 (or more) appearances a knowledge candidate attends with an examiner.

It's called standards Don, many ethnic groups are represented within the licensed London Taxi trade, indeed some are trade reps, but those who didn’t have English as their first language have made the effort, learned the native language and are now London Taxi drivers.

It's called making an effort, and now they are reaping the rewards.

But if every driver done that, you wouldn’t have the phenomenon known as the London Minicab trade now would you?

Is that that the best you can do?

Well it would be true if he was referring to Cumbria, as you really can't cross the water at the present moment!

you can spin it anyway you like but the politicians will bow to the electorates wishes in respect of private access to bus lanes, we are the majority even with those that you say can't understand or speak English can put their mark on ballot forms.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD

BUS LANE ACCESS FOR ALL P/HIRE

Balls.....Private Hire is a choice a customer makes........and IMO if PH get into Bus Lanes in London very soon no licensed vehicle will be in......but thats maybe what the GMB want.

What's so amusing about the bus lanes is many of them are only operational during rush hour periods~many mini cab drivers don't read the signs, so don't use them even when they can.

The electorate don't give a sheeite about Taxi's or Minicabs Don, and you know it.

I remember Terry banging on about how the London electorate would never dare oust Livingstone as London has always voted Labour.

Look what happened.

Can you tidy your posts up a bit, they're all over the shop.

Captain,

Hope your well, I cannot see the London Region of the GMB Professional Drivers Section wanting anything other than equality for its members in being able to use the bus lanes.

Regards
BB

BB,

When you run the London section I'll have more confidence in what you say, until that time I think I'll carry on being sceptical.

Where is the equality in one profession dedicating years and years of hard work studying to be a professional cab driver, and another where there isn't a similar prerequisite and where anything on four wheels with four doors at a bargain price cab become a licensed vehicle?

There is a distinct difference between HC and PH, I think it should remain that way.

regards

CC
