Illegal. Each application must be considered on it's own merits, not judged against the others. There is either demand or their isn't. They must grant all live apps. Anything else is illegal.

Quote:
Grant first to applicants from the list of Interested Parties based on their points position.- This would involve considering and generally granting applications to the first applications on the IPL and refusing applications from other persons on the IPL who had lower points and other persons who were not on the IPL.

Illegal. IPL has no legal standing.

Quote:
Grant to applicants selected by a draw.

Illegal. There is no provision for a lottery in the CGSA 1982

If this is the case, CEC are going down the "we'll do what we like" route again.
Another court case in the offing if they do.
I agree entirely with your statement.
I would say that its turkeys voting for Xmas. 1) Turkeys who put in there application for slaughter first should be picked first.
2) Turkeys who have acquired the most points will have to be slaughtered first. The slaughterer will send his spotty faced 16 year old apprentice into the turkey shed to decide which birds to kill. The apprentice will decide which birds to slaughter based on there speed and size. He is looking for unhealthy small, slow birds that can't run away from him because it’s easier. We all know that the best birds are the large healthy fast ones. When all the turkeys start complaining to the slaughterer he can blame the apprentice for messing up the selection procedure.
3) Turkeys who win the lottery will be slaughtered, first 28 names only. The other 86 birds left will all complain, but they all agreed to the lottery, so they will all have no case if they went to court.
It seems the slaughter man has all the power he will decide who is the best and biggest birds to put to the knife.

The turkeys may decide on option 4) vote themselves and cancel Xmas. Tell the slaughterer to go back and decide a better, fairer way of deciding who gets slaughtered.

There is an option 5) of course. Slaughter the lot! AKA De-reg!

28 and no more IMO as the market cant handle 114 now i know i will get slated for this post but things are hard going right now the work load is down thats fact not even the people who post here from edinburgh would argue with that and its so so easy for the people on this forum who dont work in edinburgh to say issue them all would you say the same if it was your patch

IMO it all about getting the right balance so that we can all make a living now dont get me wrong if a report say 30,40 etc etc plates have to go on then thats it but to flood the marked is no good for anyone

I'm not going to slate anyone. I only say that issuing only 28 plates is incompatable with Scottish law as it currently stands. If CEC do this, they will end up back in court trying to stop the issue of the others and they will fail.

Cllr Keir saw the video on Thursday and thought it was funny.
Cardownie was annoyed he wasn't Hitler. :D

Believe it or not they think this sort of thing is funny and are making sure everyone knows about it. Fact is that it probably has the the opposite effect that was intended.
