Harriet Harman QC, MP has no rights to be preaching about equality...she thought herself above the laws of the land..until now that is.

Thats not how Im reading the news...seems it might never make it through the house of lords in this parliament due it being about the most unequal bill ever to hit white heterosexual british males...because Ethnic minorities, Immigrants, women and homosexuals..possibly martians as well are to be given priority over the poor old straight British white guy in just about everything.

The bill will become law, but it might have a few amendments before it becomes an act.

Doubt any of the taxi/PH issues will change though. :?

I guess this will be down to the next Conservative administration.

Mind you they seem to listen more than the Labour ones. BB is always telling us how good Brighton and Hove are with limits.

If the bill succeeds, do you think this would this mean the death of any kind of single tier license system, such as the Institute of Licensing seem to want??

Maybe, but the chances of a one tier system happening are nil, and IMO have been nil since 1976.

Not saying I personally think it would be a bad thing, just that it ain't never going to happen for a zillion and three reasons.

They ran out of time - our section was never mentioned and it is now in the
Lords - with a view to hitting fast hard and minimalistic so what we see now
may well be what we end up with!
