I reckon the big yellow illuminated TAXI sign will be a dead giveaway!

Punters jump in anything they can....Don't help when private hire cars have a illumininated roof sign with 'pre-booked only' on them so they can use bus lanes...as if the punter takes notice of that...they see a roof sign and thinks its a taxi..

I think a condition for licensing the E7 refering colour was they want them to be all black.

It was a condition set out by the council that private hire cars could use bus lanes providing they had a 'pre-booked only' illuminated roof light. This was so the police could pick out private motorists using bus lanes...and what a joke that is....On the rear occassion you see a police operation ... i once asked a police woman why she had allowed a private hire car to continue to use the bus lane with no pre-booked only roof light and why the driver had not been stopped and gave a ticket?...she said her superior had told her them type TAXIS can use it???...So there you go if the police don't know the difference...what chance have we really got?
