Location: Used to be in Lowestoft,now escaped.
A pal of mine has an elderly mum who was taken very ill somewhile back.She asked him act as a singantory on her account with barclays.He took a letter there from her but they said no as they'd lost their copy of her signature.He took another letter to say she'd like the account closed but they insist that despite being bed ridden and in hospital she has to go in and sign in front of them.
No wonder Barclays is cockney rhyming slang for .............

I've been with them years and had no trouble with them, infact I've been with them since I was 16 I'm only 21 now. 8) 8) 8)

How many cases do you think not only Barclays but any bank have each year of people using this same sort of scenario to steal, defraud or whatever you want to call it. There is always going to be a genuine case that looks bad at the time but the bank is just trying to protect the womans money. The way to do it properly may have been to use a solicitor to get a power of attourney set up for the duration of the illness.
Yes I know this would have cost money but doesn't everything.
