Pheasants, toilet seats and a cat among items left in the back of cabs

Dead pheasants, a toilet seat, funeral ashes and a cat are among the more bizarre items left behind by London taxi passengers.

A sawn-off shotgun was found by one black cab driver. And a mum even forgot her baby.

But most often-discovered items are mobile phones, according to a data protection survey showing 10,000 are left every month - with Jemima Khan just one of the many absentminded celebrities to lose theirs in taxis.

The female cabbie who found her mobile didn't mind, though, as she got a call from Jemima's then-boyfriend Hugh Grant - who swapped his autograph for its return.

One of the funnest stories i heard was about a driver who thought that someone had left their wheelchair in his cab.He had just picked up a nice old lady from Edinburgh airport and was bring her back to Dundee.When he picked her up he put her in the cab and put the wheelchair she was in in the boot.When he got her home he helped her into her home then said to her" i will get your wheelchair from the boot|"She replied son "i do not have a wheelchair that was the airports." i think it is still sitting in teletaxis office
