As far as I know Mr BB's own area goes from Land's End to Kent, including areas surrounding the M25.

In other words the best bits of the country.

And he speaks nationally on non-London issues.

Mr BB is a senior member of the GMB PDB, does he come across as someone lacking in Hackney knowledge?

So he's senior too, yet criticises seniors in the NTA.

Mr BC,

I can assure you I have nothing but the greatest of respect for Wayne and any banter on here is merley that.
It is my opinion that there will be times in the not to distant future when National Representatives will need to stand side by side regardless of their organisation or political beliefs to oppose the many disgusting policies being inflicted on our industry by this government and the next.

By the way Wayne I'm not a Commie!

Regards
BB

Hi BB

Thanks for the kind words, I hold you in similar regard.

You very often tell our colleagues on TDO of the advantages of GMB membership in respect of the access it gains you / GMB to GMB backed MP's.

Could you enlighten us all as to how effective these MP's have been in respect of taxi policy in the House of Commons?

Perhaps the Driver Hours Campaign, Deregulation (nationally not locally), Equality Bill etc.

regards

CC

Hi Captain,

With reference to your questions.

The Drivers hours campaign was a London Region campaign and I would refer you to that region for an answer.

We have never started a campaign nationally with respect to deregulation and deal with each area on its own merit.

We have never started a campaign nationally with respect to the Equality Bill.

I hope this answers your questions.

Regards

BB

If that be the case then the Equality Bill isn't the best way to move forward as some contents of this bill are anything but equal

Depends on who the bill is being aimed at.

The equality bit is being aimed at the public i.e. equality of service, not aimed at the trade.

That said chances of all PH being made accessible is 0%.

Chances of all HC being made accessible is also 0%.

But maybe a condition should be put on the operators that a certain % of their fleet is accessible.

My three pennyworth.
I drive a taxi cab,but as a personal run about not for a living.
I was though a member of the GMB,in fact I was a shop steward for some years.
When my firm sacked me they were about as much use as a concrete lifebelt, and left me to fight my way through disiplinarys and a tribunal all on my own.
Join them?.I wouldn't even give them the time of day.
