Went to Gatwick today and got pull in for an inspection on “Operation Tout” they were checking all visiting Taxis and Private Hire vehicles for vehicle safety and if they were legal (licensing, insurance etc)

People involved were VSOA Police and a local LA. Not sure how long they are doing it for, they wouldn’t tell me lol

Needless to say I was ok just a bit of inconvenience

Can't fault them with the amount of dodgy drivers about at the moment.

Think I mentioned it on here before but about six months ago I had to go to Gatwick with mini Sx to pick up his girlfriend.

Anyway I told him to go to the arrival hall to meet her whilst I hovered outside. Twice some clearly plain clothes officer tried to entice me into doing bad things.

But he wasn't very good as he must have asked dozens why I waited.

That is the problem. They can only pull vehicles that are plated.

What you should have done Echo, was to get in behind a couple of London Minicabs, then they would have been too busy arresting the drivers for insurance and immigration offences to worry about checking you.

They took us to a compound at the side of the North Terminal and there were a few Addison Lee cars there. One of the drivers was giving the VOSA guy a real hard time. (not a smart move   ) I was in and out pretty quick but I would expect this guy is still there putting his car back together

I suppose if it was called operation trout there'd have been something fishy going on.

I'm wasted on here......absolutely wasted.
