Oh I agree, and the good thing is, they've opened the can of worms.

Some folks never learn though.

To complete The London Knowledge would be the best one though, save holding up any buses and all that, whilst they fart around with their Sat nav.

After all, as Don says, it's all about equality.

Mind you, that would be goodbye Minicab trade full stop. :D

Did you know that 120 LA's throughout England have made the DSA driving test a prerequsite of license?

WOW! London Olympics.....drivers who perhaps should be able to drive.....surely a body such as the GMB Professional Drivers Twig should be pushing for All Licensed drivers to have a DSA test?

Yes!!! this is something the NTA can push, especially for drivers applying for licenses, or maybe those who cant drive properly (maybe due to the fact we have things like tarmac in the UK, as opposed to vehicles driven by oxen )

Toots, you dare suggest Casey missed the City of Leeds and I will personally shoot you.

They could make a start with a condition that they have to speak English.

That would eliminate 60% straight away.

I often pinch myself, it is London capital of the UK we're taling about here?

The worlds great city . . . etc

Or is that Cowdenbeath?

if these guys actually do manage to convince some daft plank in authority that having access to bus lanes is a good idea then please God make them take an additional driving test!

I'm sure you're asking how hard can it be to drive down a bus lane well with some of the morons driving PH vehicles on the streets of London daily a advanced driving test is the least they need.

I've seen a motorcyclist nearly become a statistic on the bus lane where a PH vehicle just swerved into the bus lane, i've had some numpty in a PHV driving towards me on Tottenham Court Road (a one way street which i was driving up the RIGHT way) who was flashing me to get out of HIS way and i've seen a guy trying to do a 3 point turn on the corner of Hanover Gate and Outer Circle by the traffic lights whilst the police were waiting behind him; he somehow managed to bump up the kerb in reverse, smash down the fence then attempt to carry on oblivious to the old bill watching him with a bemused look on their face............yes they did pull him over!

Tell me about it. The other night one turned left from Kingly St into Beak St, then as he mounted the kerb to avoid hitting me asked me if it was a one-way street  "Your supposed to be the professional driver mate". FFS they haven't got a bleedin' clue. And they talk about parity and level playing fields. Dream on.

Then, without sounding like John too much, we fight them.

I see some interesting times ahead.

Quality and safety are the key factors.

Maybe that's a good compromise, all licensed London PH that pass the DSA 'taxi' test get free access.

Better not call it a taxi test though.

I feel a bit of dampness is about to enter your 'powder dry' plot.

Should have sealed it a bit better.

I see a flaw in that plan Mr Terminator, that would eliminate 70% of their workforce.

Damn.
