AliT,

from reading the fastie's site, Skull has posted that there has been a Interim Interdict served on CEC to prohibit them from issuing licences to those on the IPL.
I have read the meeting report from the 11th Dec from the RC but it stops short at Appendix 4 only saying 'More to Follow'. I have not read anywhere officially that CEC are going with the IPL.
Just wondering if you have any further news that might shed some more light on this situation..
Cheers

Jinky.

BTW
Roughly how much to go to court???

Loads on your own, not so loads as a group, but f*** all if you let folks with money take the lead.

From what I read it seems some of the folks with money are upping the game.

Makes things very interesting.

If it gets to court, I can't see a judge or what ever you call them, allowing those plates to go to people who haven't formally applied for plates i.e. the IPL, over the folks that have formally applied.

But I'm not always right.

35 guys from the IPL HAVE applied, after being invited by CEC.
Problem is, only 27 are available.

you'll get yer plate kleggy
but not before those who applied before you and not in isolation.
an interdict will put a stop to any ipl list

yes
although some of them thought their application fee from 1993 and subsequent rejection, somehow meant they didn't have pay for this one.

and they also believe that they will get their plates before! and in isolation! to the other applicants.

so you cant blame them they ain't the brightest.

If someone was rejected in 1993, the IMO that's where that particular avenue ends.

I think the council will struggle to convince a court that a 1993 rejection means a 2009 acceptance.

I also think the council have got themselves in a tiss by asking those rejects (for want of a better word) to apply again, and then having to turn some down once they paid the money. :?

All this will also go down to what rules the council had in place to allocate plates. It appears they had none.

not working chipper ?

really is that why I've had 3 plates in 2 years.

just you show me where I've been wrong in the past chipper.

if the council went with the applicants on first come first served basis the they would have been challenged by the ipl (because of the daft letters cec wrote to those on the ipl)

if the went with the ipl they would be challenged also

the council are fully aware of the subsequent challenges to thier decision to go with the ipl.
and they know full well they will lose when it comes to court, but it will get them off the hook.

best case scenario is that all applicants are granted.
worst case the ipl get bumped.
and cec blame it on the courts.
ill tell you whats defo though, those first 27 applicants on the list who applied before those on the ipl will i repeat will be getting there plates very early in the year, and those on the ipl wont be issued anything until it goes to court,an interim interdict will stop that dead in its tracks.
but then who would put any stead in what you say chipper
got yer plate yet ali pay attention please
