I have one for around my neck and one for in my vehicle. Regulations state they should be worn, what's the problem :?

I think the problem is the £500 fine

CC

If he'd worn it like he was supposed to he wouldn't have a fine to worry about :-|

If he'd had 3 bald tyres he'd have been £50 better off

CC

How so? If he'd had 3 bald tyres he'd have been fined for those as well as not wearing his badge :?

When you get out of the car on a windy day it can take your eye out, that's why I don't wear it round my neck.

I wonder if this has ever happened?

Anyway a driver getting out of the car for anything other than a fag or a pee would sugest that he is trying to be to helpfull and should stop it immediatly.

Ours are issued with a proper clip that will hold the badge on your clothes.
Not ideal I know but it does saatisfy the council rules. However our council take the view that even though the rules state that the badge must be worn, provided that the badge is being displayed, they are happy.

Pmsl....... I've heard some excuses but that is one of the strangest yet. I've never been hit in the eye by my shackle (badge). Our LO provides a hard plastic cover and either a long chain or a clip device to attach to your clothing and it's one of the first things they ask to see if you are stopped for any reason

How many drivers have almost been garroted with them if a punter decides to grab the hanger and pull it tight around there necks.
My badge stay permanently blue tacked to the top of the windscreen in full view

Mine is in full view as well, we've had this discussion before. I have one for my person and one for my vehicle. I know some areas only have the one badge. I can't say I remember anybody having been garroted by a punter

Why is it just not clipped to your shirt or coat like ours. I wouldn't have one around my neck.

I suppose that we are all lucky that it's just a requirement of some over officious council officials to wear our badges prominently on outer clothing, and not actual law within the meaning of the misc.prov. act (1976).

"whats that Skippy? Jimmy's fallen down the well? And it IS a lawful requirement to wear a badge?"

Guess it's best to wear it then. Or face a fine.
