Sunday night the office got a phone call from a customer wanting to go to Sleaford, she tried to pay on her card but the terminal in the office kept rejecting it, she said "I've got £50 cash on me I'll pay him the other £10 when I get back to Sleaford", is that OK? The lad in the office said yeah it's OK.

She'd been on her way home with the old Sat Nav when it took her down this road which had been closed of for a few years, she couldn't get back up so decided to phone for a cab. The driver tried to pull her out but failed, she was worried about leaving her car there overnight because it was in the middle of nowhere, the driver Colin said to the woman "do you trust me"? The woman said yes your a cabbie you've had all the CRB checks yes I trust you.

He said right this it what I'm going to do, I'm going to take you back to my house where my missus cook you some food and get you warm, I'll get the landrover out and when your warm enough and fed we'll come back out here and I'll tow you back to the top of the hill.

They back went to his house which was 7 miles away, on route he phoned his missus up to tell her what had gone off and to put the kettle on, when they got back to his house his missus had rattled some warm food up for the woman, while she was eating it Colin went outside to de-frost the landrover, she finished her food then had a coffee, Colin came back in and said right then the landrover is warmed up are you ready, the woman went to the ladies room and off they went back to where the car was.

When they got there the woman said "I've never been towed before", Colin said it's ok just head straight don't turn the wheel or anything. Anyway he got her to the top of the hill, he untied the rope she got out of the car and said you have gone beyond your job and I thankyou for that it has restored my faith in human nature, she gave him the £50 shook his hand and went on her way.

Yesterday he got a letter through the door thanking him for what he'd done and attached to the letter was a £20 note.

Is it worth passing on to the local papers and local media??

Most certainly.

This trade of ours has so much bad press we should all ensure that the good deeds make the front page as well.

In fact the local press would love a good story like this.
