Just how practical would you say these are? They may be good whilst actually on snow but how often are all the roads that we travel on covered in snow? As soon as you drive on a road without snow you will start to wear these out and you are advised not to go over 31 MPH. They may be ok for getting you home if you get caught out but I doubt that they would be much good overall.

As you will see from my post elsewhere, we don't need these. We just need to learn how to drive!!

Or take the advise from the police and not make unnecesary journeys.

Out of a fifty mile journey through snow....It might be just a hundred yards or less of thick snow which can really spoil your day and see you stuck solid...I think a pair of these kept in the boot would be handy in an emergency and im sure they can be used several times over in just such an event..

Are you expecting to put them on and take them off everytime you find the snow or keep them on all the while?

Its not particularily difficult driving in snow of a reasonable depth, the real problem is if you have to stop in it, it can be near impossible to find traction in any gear, even the best driver in the world can get caught out in an unexpectedly deep or slushy patch of snow, then you could just pop em on to drive out of trouble then take em off again..seems a dawdle just to pull them over the driving wheels to get you out of a pickle, makes as much sense as carrying a shovel...indeed it may even be life saving!

I live in the land where they make hills/mountains  and when you see 4x4s slide down a hill it is not bad driving   so to speak.

I am fortunate to be able to stay home otherwise the E7 would be a total wreck.

The problem with some people who drive 4x4's they forget that they still only have regular road tyres and not off road tyres or snow tyres on their vehicles the majority of the time. I suppose we are fortunate enough not to require snow tyres that often in this country
