If it were to become a regular thing then obviously a car or cars would be left there to cover that business.

Personally I think you are talking out of your backside.

What's your point?

If I choose to drive 18 miles to do a small fare because I want to keep my customers happy, what concern is that of yours?

You asked what I would do if it became a regular thing...obviously the simple answer to that has to be - leave a car in that area if there is business to be done. As it is, it will always be a rare occurance from the Peebles side as the last Pub closes at 1am at the weekend.

This is all getting a bit purile...

I have just realised something, Mr Yellow states that he would leave a car or cars in the area. Does that mean that sometimes he would be expecting one of his drivers to do this type of work at a loss or is he going to make up the difference out of his own pocket?

It wouldn't be at a loss if the car was in the area the business was coming from though, would it?

But at the moment you won't have a car in the area and someone will have to go there at a loss, will that be the driver or you?

You're not really getting this, are you?

If there was to become a regular influx of business from Peebles, at a time we would normally have all the vehicles in Galashiels, and there was a history of such business over a period of weeks, then a car, any car, would be left there to do the work.

Whether it was a driver or myself doing the work is a complete irrelevance, however to put this to bed, lets assume it will be me.

Who is going to be doing this work until you have a history built up? You may get only 4 or 5 jobs a week over there. How long would it take for either you or your drivers to get fed up with it?

Why not use Mr Skippy instead?

You could charge your punters normal fare, pay Mr Skippy his normal rates, and bin 25% for yourself. 8-[
