Becoming ever more sick and tired of Minicabs abusing the signage regulations, many of us are now e-mailing the PCO to inform them of the breaches.

A mear 7 days after my initial E-Mail I get this:

Quote:
Hi Greig,

Thank you for your email sent to TfL regarding unauthorised signage on a PHV.

We have now contacted the owner of the vehicle and instructed them to remove the telephone number from this vehicle and any other vehicle.

We have also visited their work place and can confirm that the signage has been removed.

He has been told that if he refits the signage the Licence Authority may suspend or revoke their Licence.

Regards

IMO things are improving at TFL.

If every London Taxi driver took the time to send the information to the compliance team, there wouldn't be quite so much abuse of the system.

well you learn something every day I must have read over a 1000 of your posts and I never knew your name was Greig

I wish our licensing team were more keen on action and not geared to giving excuses for inaction

Imagine that. I have a name, and it's not Greenbadgecabby! :D

Our PCO licensing body took over from what used to be TO9 Met Police.

It's only taken them 10 years to get their act together and start enforcing, but like everywhere else, they're under manned with limited resources, and the Minicab opo's take full advantage of that.

A lot of drivers have been doing just that.

Trouble is, after a while you get the same generic reply telling you how it's all in hand . . when it's clearly not.
