We are currently in the process of starting a new association to run alongside the already established one in our city.

Just wondered if anyone had any advice and tips to offer.

Keep it simple, and don't get bogged down in rules.

Get your priorities arranged first and keep to them, and never take no for an answer from the council. :wink:

Does it need to be registered with "Companies House".

a better option might be to register with the fsa

At the risk of imposing a negative slant on this thread:

Are the problems with the present association completely insoluble?

Wouldn't it be worthwhile to work a bit harder towards a solution rather than split the trade with the formation of a new grouping?

If you start your own association .. you will soon give up the will to live.... will it be a hackney or Private Hire Association....?? :wink:

The intention is not to have another association to oppose the one already there but to work alongside to fill in the gaps and represent the drivers not currently represented.

It will be a Hackney Association - which will include Hackneys that are working on Private Hire circuits.(these are excluded from the current Association)
