ABERDEEN taxi drivers today launched a bid to freeze their fares.

The Aberdeen Taxi Group, which represents cab drivers across the city, has asked council bosses to put any increase on hold until at least June 2011.

Shame TFL / London didn't follow their lead.

For the sake of 2%, the positive publicity in refusing a rise would have generated much more custom.

Maenwhile the greedy trade in Edinburgh is asking for an across the board increase and the Christmas tariff 4 for weekend nights.

You couldn't make this up. Two increases in one recession, whiie private hire are offering up to 40% less, and we're all wondering why we're getting fewer bums on seats?

Is it me?
