The V and X reg were prone to rust! A fellow driver had a "V" reg and had rust all over the place and at the time I had an "X" reg and it was going the same way before I outed it. The other thing is that they were a pile of rubbish with parts going right left and centre. In general they "Lti" probably sourced the cheapest of the cheap when they put it together, do not touch them even at that price.

Older vehicles like that create a bad impression with the general public they uswually do not look too brilliant faded paintwork etc and create the expectation amongst fare paying passengers of cheap fares I have had people insist on the phone that as all local taxis are old bangers we can afford to give 30 to 40 % discounts off fares

That'll be the same general public that puke, try to consume food, walk in with dogshit on their shoes, and on occasion stink to high heaven then?

The same public that flag down any vehicle that moves on an evening then wonder why there are fake cab drivers out there?

It is perfectly possible to opertate with older vehicles it's just that local authorities haven't a clue.

not too sure about next question, so don't shout at me for being stupid, I'm fragile today.

Did the rear doors (open to back) not get banned before that picture was taken? Could that be a "private car" rather than a hack?

And no, I'm sure it was a PCO plated cab.

Those with age restrictions want to send a copy of this to the councils and ask them to drop it, pointing out the reg number

Regardless of it's condition it is still a 10/11 year old vehicle, with that in mind it is probably well over priced.
