Oh dear it goes from bad to worse, at YTA, the group that promised so much has failed to deliver, The AGM has always been held on the last Wednesday in February, which is fast approaching, The Chairman has resigned, the Vice Chairman has resigned, The Treasurer has resigned to save him producing a balance sheet to explain where the money is, the Secretary has sold his plate and run back to private hire and is refusing to hold an AGM the main Committee man has also resigned and is going to stand for parliament so wheredo the members go from here? Perhaps they should have let the old secretary just carry on.

Sounds a bit like the associations we have had in Winchester..... All disfunctional and now defunct... all start with good intentions but achieved nothing. I think its called selfish apathy.....

The YTA has been inexistence since 2003 and at it's peak had 151 members then this lot have destryed it in less than 1 year, as captain cab said in another post, people think it looks easy but when they take over they are out of their depth,

I'm sure our TOA constitution has a scenario for a situation that seems to have arisen in York, perhaps York Associations constitution is the same?

9. A member may call a meeting subject to the following provisos

a) To call an extraordinary general meeting a member must do so in writing with not less than one-tenth of the voting members.

b) The requisition must state the purpose of the meeting and must be signed by the members serving the requisition. It must be given to a member of the elected committee.

c) The elected committee must within 7 days after such requisition being served, give notice to members of the extraordinary general meeting. The date of the meeting must be not more that 10 days after the requisition.

d) If the elected committee does not call a meeting within the specified period, the members who requisitioned may themselves call a meeting.
