A child can see what you're game is, you don't give a sh*t about the drivers and your list of points regarding the tarrif increase was obviously the work of some window licker or another.

If you object to the fares going up fine......formulate an objection, but don't try telling people it's in their interests, because from where most people sit they can see your only concern is you.

Wayne, why don't you just read the post again, properly this time, before embarrassing yourself?

Kinda makes me wonder how you ever got elected.

You WERE elected weren't you?

Aye, a real contribution to debate, eh?

If you had real argument you would be making it.

You haven't so you focus on me. Dearie me.

NWTTIF.

ok jim you want a debate then no probs but whats the point as you only answer the questions u decide u want to and ignore the rest and then go on to insult people

i have asked questions before in order to debate the issue and still have no reply

focus on u ......mmmmmmmmm aye right you aint that important apart from in your own mind

You're clearly not bright Chimper.

You say you want to debate but don't enter into one, just another attempt to take a swiipe at me.

Don't you realise that those who are sweating buckets trying to meet their commitments while maintaining high rentals for owners don't give a toss about Taylor or Chimper?

All they want is a fair shake.

Now why don't you just come out and say that all hard working cabbies should have full unfettered access to the tools of their trade, access to their own taxi, and let those who want to do so.

If ou're right drivers will remain in abject servitude. If I'm right you're stuffed when your driver walks.

What have you got to lose?

Only your meal ticket your lazy selfish bar steward.

Kinda sums you up, eh?

BTW If you think you're so right why don't you do a Jim Taylor? Tell everyone who you really are.

I'm not afraid. Why are you?

:D

Jim, I have read it and to be honest I wish I never bothered because the second time of reading it was even more tedious than the first time.

You can wonder how I get elected till your little heart's content, but I'm sure you'll find I wasnt elected, because there is no need to elect an employee

But carry on deflecting......it takes the heat off

Nice one Dougie.

The short answer is YES, a pilot does have unfettered access to the tools of his trade. There is nothing preventing him from training for a pilot's licence, then nothing stopping him from buying his own plane and operating it within the general licensing conditions.

This does NOT happen within the taxi trade in Edinburgh where the council, by restricting numbers, confers privilege to those it has allowed into the club and discriminates against those it refuses "membership" or the privilege or right to. Those club members then further fetter the access of drivers to the tools of the trade by demanding considerable sums of money for the privilege to then do the job they have been trained to council approved standards to do.

Don't pay - then no pay.

This is all very simple Dougie. You already know this.

I think this was set out when the NTA were witnesses before the Transport Select committee.

But you can't bring yourself to say? You ashamed about it?

I don't know what the NTA's position is, so will you tell me?

Why should I be ashamed? I merely put the fact towards you that the NTA represented its membership in front of the transport select committee.......because previously you were questioning, no not questioning, trying to mock the credentials of an organisation that represents thousands of taxi proprietors and drivers.

The NTA policy towards numbers is well established, why on earth do you think your council must have a survey if it wishes to continue to operate its current policy? Do you think the fairies ammended the 1985 transport act?

But you will still not say what the NTA's policy is towards restriction. Why so coy?

So you also accept the investment to gain un-fettered access to the tools of a pilots trade!!!

You also say that a pilot just has to buy a plane and then confirm to the regulations of his trade, but doesn't he have to pay extra to the airport he works from and lands at? Isn't there some restriction in that as far as he may not get to operate from the airport of his choice? I don't know that's why i'm asking the question.

Jim in all Trades investment comes in at different levels and different regulations govern all trades, not many trades are the same, some are more regulated than others so as to sustain that trade, as i've said previously you don't get 10 butchers side by side on the same street.

Jim end off some trades need fettered access, accept it

the nearest you could get with your pilot scenario.
is the caa/jaa who would issue you with the license to fly after passing the test for an cpl/atpl
kinda like a licence to operate a taxi
don't know the exact costs of that but i doubt it costs more than a few hundred pounds.

also you don't have to get the use of another qualified pilots license for the tune of £40-50k do you
