One of our lads got done for £55 last night, picked up a job off rank going to Calverton to drop this lads missus off. He then had to go back to where he started off because the lad wanted to pick his cashcard up from from home and go somehwere else. The lad nipped into this house and never came back.
£55 on a dead night is one hell of a loss.
Why didn't he ask for the fare upfront? It can be done politely... If the punter is genuine they will have no qualms in showing that they have the means to pay and will even offer to pay upfront. If a punter doesn't show that they have the means to pay upfront or say's that he has a cash card and doesn't pull cash at the start of the journey and says to you that he will pay you later or the excuse that this one used above, would be ringing alarm bells in my head, right from the start, no matter how genuine he might have seemed, I just wouldn't do it..... even on a dead night..... lesson learnt the hard way

When the punter didn't come out of the house, that was the time to call the police!
Trouble is you don't know if thats what he did .... nothing to stop them pretending it's the house they live in, hiding, then jumping over the fence when it's clear, or for that matter the bilker can just deny all knowledge, no witnesses, no proof.... If it feels iffy, they look iffy and you just know in your own mind, don't take 'em.

No matter how sh1ty a night your having....
