So It would seem that 50/50 would be a good result for your area....
I can't see the DFT ruling against saloons, or would it be that they may have to "upgrade" to a wav on next purchase?
Here we are more than well supplied with wav's, stupid as though that might be, I seldom do any punter's in wheelchair's, once a year at most.... But at least I can keep my vehicle ad infinitum, my last one went 15 years....

We have a 10 year advisory age limit on WAV's.....5 on saloons.

Why would we see anymore WAV's than is already here? We have no limits on the taxis so the Equality Bill will have no effect at all on us. It's a shame the bill isn't about making things equal for ALL passengers with a mixed fleet option

It already is, unless you want to get an ambulance..... That way you can cater for all then. Reckon you'll stick to a saloon then and discriminate against people that are bound to a wheelchair and can't get out of it

I'd be inclined to agree somewhat with what you said if I didn't have a regular passenger that has to get into a WAV on his hands and knees and that's why he is prepared to wait for a PH to come and get him. WAV's like saloons are not perfect for every customer

Then your punter does have the choice That's what PH are for Toots so then we should all be wav's on taxi ranks and punters who don't like wav's can phone you and all your buddies..... no problem

Dundee has no age restrictions but the older the car is the more tests it has to have in the year.

Again I'd be inclined to agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that not always do customers wish to wait. Why should it be that a person who is in a wheelchair can go outside and hail a cab but some punters can't cos there aren't any suitable vehicles to hail

We have age limits and once the saloon or WAV is 3 years old, it gets the Max 3 tests per year treatment.

M is 15 year old, but I suppose if it passes the test.

I think ours is my mates N reg fairway, absolutely mint condition.......but the sad thing is, once it goes off, he wont be spending money on a vehicle under 3.
