I had mine changed on the Octy, £230 fitted at the main dealer, I checked everywhere and the cheapest part only price was £380 so bit the bullet and ask the dealer when they told me the price I booked it in straight away :D

Yes......but it is rather painful involving gentlemans private parts and a breville.

And that's the main reason why my new cab won't be a Peugeot, Citreon or Fiat.

I know it's the wrong section, but I'm looking for a quick answer.

What is a dual mass flywheel, and what does it do? Does an Auto have this set up?

I'm still trying to track down the horrible vibration that I’m getting in low revs from the cab.

Internet searches seem to reveal the source of this is either the above DMF, or (as I suspect) the crankshaft pulley where the noise seems to be emanating from.
A ratchet system on the alternator has also been suggested.

I had the driving shaft checked, it was ok.

Ta.

Here is an animation of how a Dual Mass Flywheel works, as previously posted on TDO by Mr Saltmarket.

Dual Mass Flywheel

This video does not start automatically; you need to touch the circle on the video running bar forward a little to start the video.

Hope this helps, but your autobox may not have one of these fitted.

I will ring my mate Nigel (an autobox mega-expert) who will let me know. He DOES have all the answers.

Does he have the answer as to why the CVT gearbox on my Rover 45 wont change gear and often just drops back to 1st when it has changed?
It is realy annoying now and no one seems to have the answer.

have you tried the rover forums they may help you, to me it sounds like a censor away or a fluid change is required along with the internal filter
