We have just been given the right to charge fare and a half for bank holidays and a section ot the trade are up in arms, before this we charged 80p per journey on top of the normal fare, which came up in the extras on the meter. We are all hackneys, so could always round the fare down if did not feel it right to charge, what do others charge for bank holidays?

Which LA are you licensed & driving in?

In Brum;

We charge 20% extra for Sunday to Thursday nights, Sunday day-time & all Bank Holidays except those specified below.

We charge 30% extra for Friday & Saturday nights, Boxing Day (24 hours) and Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve from 19.00hrs to 24.00hrs.

We charge 60% extra on Christmas Day (24 hours) & New Year's Day from 00.00hrs to 07.00hrs.

I'm PH and we only have Christmas day + Boxing day, New years eve +day all time and a half and that's it. We have a weekend card and a midweek card, sunday's up until a couple of years ago was on the midweek card and you would make more money then than now, nothing to do with falling cussys but it just causes more drivers to come out to work so increasing prices doesn't always work.

TARIFF TWO

For hirings commenced between 2300 hours and 0700 hours, and between 1200 hours and 1800 hours on Christmas and New Years Eve.

Plus One Third of Tariff One rate of fare

TARIFF THREE

All day of Bank and Public Holidays and between 1800 hours and 2400 hours on Christmas and New Years Eve.

Plus One Half of Tariff One rate of fare

Don't charge time and a half at anytime other than Xmas and Boxing Day.

Double on New Year's Eve.

Think time and a half is a bit much personally for Bank Holidays, and might lose you quite a few punters to the PH side of the trade, or the buses. :?
