3 weeks ago I turned down a one way street (country lane really) in Rutland to find 20 Cyclists coming the wrong way en masse !

We definitely need some examples being made to discourage this sort of behaviour !

He was found guilty of 4 offenses. I would bet that the failing to stop offense was the one that upped the fine. So in answer to your question, Yes you probably are the only one who thinks it is a bit steep. :wink:

He didn't turn up to court so the court based his wage on £350 a week.

Two offences equals £700 plus costs make it about right.

I suspect the cyclist will appeal by saying he didn't know about the court date, when the fine and costs will be reviewed.

Otherwise if he doesn't pay he will go to prison.

Horse riders are the bane of my life being rural

1 have 1 route that is used by about 20 in 1 group from a famous trainers stables, and its a narrow country lane, not helping me arrive on time...

But I guess that could apply equally to the Town dweller as well... :?
