What parameters should be used to put together a bid for the right to install a freephone at a site? How do you then convert that into a monetary tender?

Any ideas from the great and the good out there?

very expensive way to get business many bigger companies tend to use intermediaries who charge a lot if its a smaller company and you are going to provide the phones its basically the cost of the equipment line rental calls and installation plus what you are paying the company hosting the freephone

When i had a supermarket freephone it used to average at 70p per call

i wouldnt get in a bunfight for a freephone, we have 4 supermarkets locally, only 1 has a freephone, installed be a firm plated by the LA but in "the next town" wanting to break into the area

A company I worked for were the first in town to have afreephone number, all th other PH companies used to ring the number just to run up the bills

How many jobs you will get, and how many cars those jobs will keep busy.

So if a driver does 25 jobs a day, and the phone gives 100 jobs a day, then in theory the phone is worth 4 times a years office rent.

Offer half that for the phone and bin the rest.

We are having to offer a 'financial benefit' to the client for the privilege of picking up his customers. The volumes could be quite good and it's one we'd like to win.

Our problem is quantifying the bid we should make andhow to calculate that figure.

Thee is a company that advertises in T&ph basically its a mobile phone you insert a sim card that you can get free calls on, all you require is a mains plug to keep it charged, cost £149 place in supermarket and bobs your auntie

It would be interesting to know who else was quoting, and how desperate they are for the work.

Some firms will fold if they don't keep some of these contracts/freephones, so they will offer loads of money.

But if they don't know you are quoting, then maybe they wont.

Question: Out of area PH bidding for a freephone in one area to link to an office in another area....Legal or not?

Depends if your council view freephones as advertisements or a booking office.
