Now I know a lot of posters place many You Tube links on the forum.

However, this one is worth a look.
It amply demonstrates the underclass that make up the London Minicab trade who day in, day out flout the rules and respond in their usual violent style when confronted by either the licensed taxi trade or the authorities.

In this case, a taxi driver, who must be all of 5'2" and over 65, asks an illegally parked Minicab to move off the Shepherds Bush Taxi rank which serves the new shopping arcade at Westfield.

. . . and they wonder why they're seen by many as low lifes.

The clip comes from Jim Thomas's Anderson Shelter, which has had a lot of interesting stuff on it recently, good to see it's not all about the LTDA / RMT MrA.

If I hadn't been told that was a minicab on that rank I wouldn't have known, how old is this clip?

About a week old.

I sometimes use that rank of an evening if i'm out west, I tend to double park alongside them and stay there until I take a job.

I ain't 5'2" and 65.

They're always welcome to call the Police, in fact I'd welcome it, but that would entail using their mobiles whilst speaking English.

However, they tend to wait until I'm gone.

My point is that I couldn't see anything that said that vehicle was a licenced minicab. It could have been anybody parking on the rank. Are there not suppose to be plates on the minicabs in London?

I think they have a PCO issued sticker in the back window.
I'm sure someone will put me right if that's wrong.

I saw nothing that didn't say that was merely a private car parked in contravention of regulations.

How do you identify it as a minicab, GBC?

That's why I asked about the licence etc because I couldn't see anything to suggest it was a minicab either. The actual title on utube just says 'Illegally parked on Shepherd's Bush Taxi Rank' :?

It did have a PCO sticker which may not have been evident with the camera / sun, and if you listen to the drivers pidgeon english you'll hear he was claiming to be picking up a client.

As a user of that particular rank, I can testify that there are nearly always scabs taking a chance by parking there.

A lot of custom comes out of the shopping city, and the nearby Underground entrance

Nope, it's not a GMB advert.
