Went away this weekend and during the outbound journey the milometer reached 239000 but then stuck. The speedo needle now bounces around and is never smooth. Is this an easy fix? I think this is a regular problem on fairways yes?

I can always use my SatNat for a more accurate speedo anyway... but I wouldn't mind fixing it if it's not too hard.

This happened to my fairway http://www.baconsdozen.co.uk/londontaxi.html I took the speedo to bits and anaged to get it working again but after 99 miles it stuck again.
The mileometer fialing is apparently a coomon failing, but the erratic speedo needle might just be a case of moving the cable to get a smoother 'run'.Best of luck with it

Speedo cable is getting frayed and ready for changing.
