They are to look at capping the numbers. It will be discussed further at next weeks licence meeting. At the meeting they will hear deputations from the DTA and TandG reps. The premier wav will go to a vote next week as well.

Also discussed was hired plates and the owner of 203020 told the meeting that Tony Waters was hiring a plate
Mr waters is in the process of consulting his lawyer be cause of these false allegations.

Tone, correct me if i'm wrong but, at the last meeting did the body of the hall not vote to withold any fare increase demand until all talks with DCC regarding re-restriction proved fruitless ????

So why did the DTA request today at the first meet with DCC, an increase on the flag ??? This is the problem !! a demand from one section of the Trade who obviously did not respect the majority vote !

This lone wolf approach in my opinion, has done neither DTA nor Trade any favours and, shows only contempt for the members of the Trade who gathered at the last meet in an attempt to find a united solution. :?

I think you will find that the rise is if the council refuse to cap the town.

Too many cabs, not enough work and lose even more customers with a price rise.
Now there's a plan.

You're missing the point Tone, There was no mandate to justify the request !! so why lobby the Trade only to mislead them ??

Tx op and gusmac your are not getting my point. This is just another opertunity to have a dig at the people who give up there time for free to try and make our Job better.
Know listen the speaking of a rise was to put the onus on the council to really consider capping the town.No one wants a rise, but to say to the council that if you do not cap the town we would consider asking for a very significant rise. This putting a bit of pressure on the council to cap numbers.

Keep subsidising the people's taxi fares with low fares or, make a profit on each job with a price increase? I know what I'd sooner have.

That sounds like threatening to shoot yourself if you don't get what you want.
What do you do if they say "go ahead"?

What if your PH do an ECPH and undercut the lot of you?

Are PH that much cheaper there. I know we're not really cheaper than taxis. There are other reasons why people prefer PH over taxis and vice versa. Has anybody looked into those reasons?

It is, and has always been, a thankless task representing the trade.

But who other than you represents you better than you?

A fare rise is suicide...why not just accept the slow death DCC have committed us to !!

As for the town getting capped...you've got more chance of Messi getting capped for England !!

It's now clear...if you canna hack it....jack it !!

See the SNP were true to their word eh Tone ???
must admit they done you proud !!!

Either the Dundee Trade learns to stick together or we're gonna take it up the ar$e forever !!!
