Coals a dirty word these days...I reckon there is an Anti UK conspiracy from the rest of the world,.. here we are sitting on hundreds of years worth of coal reserves in the UK and the Tree shagging Greenies wont let us use it because its a dirty fuel, Instead we are made to build stupid Windmills to appease the puff the Magic Dragon brigade who's Idea of a Manly job is test driving Nokia 5800s at a the myriad of Phone shops that have replaced industry as the new world major employers.

It p*sses me off to think of all those Jobs both Directly and Indirectly that could make britain great again if they allowed us to re open british mines and let us burn British coal once more...after all its OK for the chinese to do it, but then again they do not have the bunch of Jessies that constitute the EU telling them what they can or cannot do. ](*,)

How many years? I remember from my school days that they were saying that the coal reserves would last less than 100 years and north sea oil and gas a lot less than that. We had a superpit open up here that never produced any coal at all. They dug down and then couldn't find the seam. It kept dissapearing.

Asfordby? its muted to open again using new extraction int it?

the lords of Bevoir shat emselves when the seam was 1st discovered cos they made fortunes out of coal and didnt know thier house sat on a rich seam...
