i had the mis-fortune to drive through Mansfield today (thursday), and it is indeed a sh*te hole !!!

well to be honest i only went through Mansfield cos i missed a turning earlier, . i was in Chesterfield and then Darlington looking at Volvo S80's and used mulitmap.co.uk for directions on how to get up there (very good it is too).

but on the way back down the A1 i missed the turn for the M18 and ended up heading for notts via the cross country route. silly me printed out direction on how to get up there but not the way back! but at least i know now for next time.

so i only went through masfield just to get back on to the motorway. it was VERY busy in what i assume is the main road, and that was at 2 o'clock. saw a couple of cabbies driving around. some with a white motor with a black bonnet, is that you HC? and a couple of red peugeot estates with yellow door sticker, which i guess must be PH.

and i though Plymouth took the [edited by admin] with the traffic lights!!

but then it's always nice to see new places (to avoid!) and i've never seen a CO-OP petrol station before either! and what are those tree hugging hippies doing there Nidge?

i'll be back up in Darlington again on Monday, but i'll take the train this time and (hopefully) drive back in me new motor

Hi Steve, yes Mansfield does take the [edited by admin] with Traffic lights, we have a set every hundred yards THey have just built a new road off the A617 and guess what?? Yes you've guessed it more traffic light when a island would have done much better. THe Tree huggers on Debdale Lane have been there for over 2 years, they have just built some houses on a old colliery site, they want to make a junction with more traffic lights just where the tree huggers are but the trees have been there for over 300 years and the local residents aren't to happy about the plans to chop them down. All our cars are black and white local Council rules and all the yellow sticker ones are from 123 a local PH firm.
