We may have finished paying for WW2 but there are still outstanding debts from WW1. Britain defaulted on these loans in 1934. At the time we owed the US £866 million now allowing for inflation and interest this would now be over £40 billion. It is not all bad news because we are owed £2.3 billion by other countries from the same time that have not been repaid which allowing for inflation and interest now stands at over £104 billions.

regarding the debt/loans to banks, shouldnt the banks be paying all of that back themselves?
