I suppose they'd be classed as 'oops moments' then  It's not all bad apparently, cos, when England won in 1966 the first match finished 0-0 but I wasn't there so I don't know for sure :D

they are from the Werdafukarwe Tribe

Has there been a documentary on the discovery channel about this tribe yet?

Not yet; at least I don't think so.

But I think Ms Toots is into ancient Afrikan & South American Tribes, so I'm hoping she might be able to give us a lot more info on this particular tribe.

I'll be amazed if she hasn't hear of them, but then she may not have because of her view that Nigeria could win the World Cup will a good proportion of their team from that tribe of short people.

It took a couple of coffees and a google to realise you was taking the p*ss, but, in my defence I have only just woke up  Anyway it's not that I think Nigeria have any chance of winning it's just that's who I got in the sweepstake in the office

I doubt if you will find the Werdafukarwe Tribe on Google; they're a very secretive tribe & not much is known about them. And I might have the spelling wrong for their tribe's name.

One of the few things that is know about them is that they live in long grass & jump up & down constantly, every day of their lives.

Some of their tribe have represented Nigeria in jump events at previous Olympics.

First match, nerves abounding, very ordinary but extremely well organised USA team, Green blunder that will be shown on TVs & DVDs for the rest of his life & longer, good performance from many of the England team, Rooney didn't play well, Heskey should have scored & had an excellent game, Milner completely out of sorts & taken off to prevent England going down to 10 men which was a dead cert had he stayed on.

But it's only the first game.

Fabio won't play Hart, who is the most tallented goalie he has by far because his distribution is p*ss poor.

Why wasn't Joe Cole brought on, is the big question?

Interesting news which is bound to provoke debate is World Cup organising chief Danny Jordaan saying the Marmite-like vuvuzelas could be banned inside stadiums following complaints by supporters and broadcasters. "I would prefer singing. It has always been a great generator of a wonderful atmosphere," said the South African.

Source; BBC 'Live - World Cup' commentary.

That's wrong; the vuvuzela horn gives a great atmosphere, akin to Argetina 1978.

Keep blowing the vuvuzela I say!!!

TBH it is spoiling the world cup for me as it sounds like an angry Bees nest, nothing really can take the place of the roar of the crowd.

The atmosphere inside the grounds seems to have been lost with many flat spots punctuating the game instead of the crowd trying to lift their team.

Re Robert Green, the biggest tragedy by far was the inability of 10 out fielders to score a second goal. The writing was on the wall with the Japanese game, at such a late stage during the England teams preparation they failed miserably to take them apart and this I feel is down to a much heralded coach.

England have the talent but the coaches play their sides ingrained with the fear of losing, thus strangling natuaral talent and ability of the players who are quite capable of winning by more than 3 goals most matches.

Apparently Robert Green was selected for a random drugs test after the game and he said afterward "they found no trace of any performance enhancing drugs." Get away we never noticed!
