I hope they Take the Motability cars off the Scammers....these cars are meant for those supposedly on the top level of Disability allowance and who meet the following criteria:

"To get the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance, your disability must be severe enough for you to have any of the following walking difficulties, even when wearing or using an aid or equipment you normally use:

* because of a physical disability, you are unable or virtually unable to walk without severe discomfort, or at risk of endangering your life or causing deterioration in your health by making the effort to walk
* you have no feet or legs
* you are assessed to be both 100 per cent disabled because of loss of eyesight and not less than 80 per cent disabled because of deafness and you need someone with you when you are out of doors
* you are severely mentally impaired with severe behavioural problems and qualify for the highest rate of care component
* you need guidance or supervision most of the time from another person when walking out of doors in unfamiliar places"

That would reduce the Numbers that is abusing this easily abused by around 75%...Most of the ones I know that get this Privelage are perfectly fit or at best some long way short of the goverments criteria.

I live in a small town and although not a doctor I recognise that a lot of theses beggars are simply swinging the lead...

park at a big store (tesco/co-op,etc) and watch the "disabled" park, jump out and jog to the shop

its odd that a HC for "disabled" requires a WAV but a "disabled" (mobility) car can be (according to a bristol street motors ad for a £19K brand new car with insurance and servicing) FREE WITH NO DEPOSIT for those on the higher rate

maybe "Mobility" cars should all be WAVs too....like so many LAs insist on?

mind you, they could still claim the cash and run a car they own

what about a relative, 45, aint worked for 25 years

new free car every 3 years, DRIVES to southern spain for 13 weeks holiday each year (twice) but to ill to drive for a living...

Yes he's hit them well and truely in the swingers. I was amazed at the welfare bill each year,

Never mind them; yes there are those that cheat & they must be stopped. But when you live with a spouse that is severely disabled, as I do & it has only come on in the last five years & has almost decimated her life & affected mine too to some extent, it ain't a pretty sight.

But housing benefit; there's another question. As declared in the budget, more is spent on housing benefit than police and universities combined. No f*cking wonder there's no law & order, the police budget is being sucked dry by housing benefit.

Nobody pays for me & my wife to have a roof over our head, except us.

We have such a warped housing benefit society that they even had a roaring success with a TV programme loosely based on it called 'The Royle Family'. And most people related to it, which made it such a success.

How perverse is that?

At least when the Scousers appeared in 'Bread' they were scamming & scheming for a living & trying to make a go of life as you do in Liverpool.

Why do we let them in....and what clowns at the councils decide to give them a mansion to live in?? surely as they just come over here and if they have never contributed financially to the state then they shouldnt receive a single penny from it..

I know we have an agreement with the EU to take all and sundry...but surely to hell we can stop everyone else freeloading off us.

They're not the only freeloaders. The country is full of them and the majority I'm ashamed to say are British born and bred

i would like to see big door stickers on the side of invalidity cars telling you they are invalidity cars, this would make it harder to own one and work on the side, another thing i would like to see is a benefits website for each town with the names of all the claimants on it,the number of claimants would drop rapidly
