merc sprinters have always had a built in limiter

better yet, seeing as all cars are now computer controlled, why isnt vehicle speed controlled from roadside boxes, elimination any speeding at all?

So if most of his work in town then most of the shift he'll be able to do TWICE the speed limit :?

I wouldnt ever trust 100% any PAYE driver, let alone a freebie lender, hire cars get thrashed just like company cars by reps...

Granddad you sound like a smashing bloke. But do you have the relevant insurance to be lending out your car? If YES, ok but your NCB could be wiped out if the borrower smashes your car up.
If NO, and the same scenario is applied, no insurance, points on your license, massive insurance premiums and if anybody claims will make you personally liable for the payment which equates to you having to sell your house to pay off said claimants.
The loss of your vehicle, loss of earnings etc. The extra sting here is the possible loss of your Taxi badge. Please don’t do it again PLEASE!

My insurance cover is OK but I won't be letting anyone who is not employed by me use the car again.

It seems to be the season for it a couple of weeks ago i had a driver pestering me for a job as he was desperate to leave tjhe company he was working for I have a spare car at the moment and agreed to let him rent that for a week or two till the driver put his own car on the road I am waiting for a badge to come through for is available ( council held onto the CRB for 4 weeks before sending it off   ) reluctantly I agreed and on the friday afternoon phoned up the insurance to get him put on cost £51.25 on the saturday morning he phoned me at 10 am to pick up the car and start work

2 hours before that the boss of the company he had been working for stopped one of my drivers and told him that the bloke was only after the car for the weekend and would be back driving for them on the monday because they wouldn't let him have the car for the weekend. He had told me he had finished with them and wanted to work saturday and sunday day!

Saturday afternoon he finished at 16.00 and told the person manning the phones that he was going to the supermarket to buy a bottle of wine

I phoned him on saturday night to sort out start times etc for sunday and was told he had a migraine and would definitely not be working on sunday

I tried to get hold of him on sunday night to sort out getting photocopies of his driving licence and badge for the insurance and organise jobs for monday morning his phone was switched off finally got hold of him about 20.00 and got a load of bullshit about him needing to make important phonecalls and was too busy but he'd pop up later which never happened

Monday morning he was out on the road driving for the company he had allegedly jacked in with got the car back off him on tuesday and he didn't replace the fuel that was £15.01

So I have sent him a demand for the amount of money I am out of pocket by which he has treated as a joke so it looks like the hastle of the small claims court because even though it was a scam to get the use of the car for the weekend he's done nothing illegal !
