WTF do we always have to play Germany in every World Cup or Euro Championships??

You know what's going to happen; 90 minutes, then extra time, then penalties, then a taxi to the airport.

Why couldn't Ghana beat them tonight so we don't have to suffer the Germans again?

It's always the Germans!!!

FFS . . . . ain't there any other teams out there we can play?

Gone the days of jauntily slagging off the Germans, there is one in the forum now.
Yeah, always ze Germans, I know. Well, I indeed can´t wait for the penalties, good old tradition, right? Anyway, there have been better German teams before, so, may the best team win!
But you know, this whole thing has inspired me enough to write about it in my "Hitch-Hiker´s Guide to the Galaxy"-version 2005. :)

“Have you already heard”, Trillian, his wife, came walking up the stairs and was shouting from afar already, “England is World-Champion 2006. They´d won over host Germany. At the penalty shoot-out!”

Let's hope we can produce another 5-1 win like we did in the 2001 qualifier against Germany

Go ahead, toots, my sympathies lie with both teams. I had hoped for a final E. - G. AND penalty shoot-out, of course, but I´m afraid both teams have seen better times. Like I said, may the best (or the less bad) team win! (At least the Frenchies are out ) (Oh, I forgot, and I SO hope the Squadra Mafiosa is next! )
24.6., 17.57 continental time: Yeeeees!!!!

I dont think that'll stop us if we win on Sunday........if we dont, then this thread should be locked and the world cup should be cancelled.

Yeh, yeh, yeh, pull the other one.

You know the Germans, nobody talked about them before the tournament started & that's how they like it. Creep up on the inside without anybody noticing them & before you know it they're in the semi-finals. Well, isn't that a surprise.

Of course Herr Jocken will make you believe that the Germans are not a good team & that is of course reverse psychology, because if Germany loose, then he'll say, I told you so & if they win he'll say that England couldn't beat a poor German team that aren't a patch on previous world beating German teams.

Either way Herr Jochen can't loose.

Then Kaiser Beckenbauer chips in & tells us that the England team is 'stupid' for not finishing top of our group & thereby creating an early encounter with the Germans.

It's all reverse psychology & the Germans are almost as good at that as they are at football.

Don't you believe it, they have a very good side & now the knock-out stages are here they will show their true colours.

Our only hope is to drop Lampard, bring in Crouch with Defoe up front & play Rooney in midfield immediately behind those two; a role he relished with Man U for a lot of last season & he dropped back countless times creating openings for others & eventually himself too. Last season he flourished with his distribution just behind the front line & created havoc from there.

Don´t mind a word Beckenbauer says. The guy is so full of that stuff an admin would censor! Truly embarassing, my apologies as a German!
Well, gives me a "steep forward pass" for an other quote from my H2G2 sequel: "Beckenbauer, the “Kaiser”, the “Kaiser Wilhelm II.” of German soccer. Who bragged ’90, right after his World-Cup-victory, with German invincibility and came a cropper with it in the end just like him too ... he had to set up as well a world-record in pomposity – in coincidence with the useless waste of chopper-fuel".
