Why couldnt the police, fire brigade, ambulance service run on red diesel?

or do they not pay the fuel duty anyway?

The Army run on cherry, with the Ambulances and Fire Engines being that advanced I don't think they'd like cherry diesel.

Dunno mate I thought they ran on cheery? They could dye it green I couldn't tell you.

Certain lorrys can run on red, lorrys with cranes attached to them are allowed to run on red, it's the same with concrete pumps, they can run on red because they are classed as a crane.

red diesel is plant and non commercial vehicles like contractors plant you see on a building site, farmers tractors, generators, compressors, fishing boats etc.

Is it not same for Ireland where the diesel is cheaper than uk, its dyed green, white and gold?. To differentiate what side of the border it was bought on.

"RED" is white with a dye and chemical tracer added, there is also marine diesel for boat use, nice and simples innit

I think there is the blue dye'd stuff that goes into the tanks of service buses as well but I believe that the government would have to ammend the law for emergency service's vehicles to become exempt
