Twelve hurt in M1 minibus crash
The scene of the crash Lane closures were causing long tailbacks.

Twelve men have been injured in a minibus crash on the M1 in West Yorkshire.

The vehicle overturned on an embankment between the southbound carriageway and the slip road exit at junction 42, the M62 interchange, near Lofthouse.

The occupants of the coach are believed to be men in their 20s and 30s from the Rochdale area, police said.

Two of the casualties were in a critical condition, five had serious injuries and five had minor injuries.

They were taken to Leeds General Infirmary and Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield by ambulance and air ambulance.

One lane of the M1 carriageway was closed for about two hours. The exit slip road was expected to be closed until about 1900 BST.

Police appealed for witnesses to come forward

Dunno..it doesnt really say, but if it has the "M" word in it so someone will start a purge on Minibus Drivers,.....That asides...why should drivers on a car Licence be allowed tro drive up to 16 passengers around unhindered...whilst I had to spend a wee fortune to pass a D1 driving test to do the same professionally? you would have thought that the non Professional or Volunteer/charity minibus drivers that drive one on a car licence were more of a risk than the likes of a D1 licence holder who is forced to take a harder test and then to take CPC training..seems bloody odd to me!

If they close this loophole on amateur drivers hiring Buses then it might make the job justify the cost to many more of us professional drivers because of the extra work it would generate....amateurs dont even need Tachos or Speed resticted Minibuses... :?
