Man Refuses To Pay Taxi Fare; Taser Gun Used


DAYTON, Ohio -- Montgomery County sheriff's deputies used a Taser gun on a man several times after authorities said he refused to pay a cab driver for the fare that was due. The incident happened at the BP station near the intersection of Salem Avenue and Free Pike early Wednesday morning.

Deputies said the man hailed a cab at a downtown bar, but when the driver realized his customer was not going to pay, he called for help.

Investigators identified the man as 23-year-old Corey Black. Deputies said Black hailed the cab and rode around until the cab driver gave him an ultimatum. Deputies said Black refused to pay, so they and Trotwood police showed up to help settle the dispute.

Authorities said after the fare was paid, Black became violent and starting arguing with a deputy. In order to get control of Black, authorities used a Taser gun to subdue him

Black is behind bars, facing a number of charges.
